What do you know about microbiology?

Microbiology or microbiology is a science that studies microscopic organisms, which are not seen by the naked eye and are only identified by microscopy.
The name is derived from the term "biology" and means biology and the term "micro" It is equal to 1 million and is derived from a Greek word that means precise or small.

What is microbial or germ ?!

Is a very small object that sees the microscope.

How did microbiology begin?

We can consider the Dutch scientist Antony van Leeuwenhoek as the father of microbiology! In the late seventeenth century, Levinhoek began studying this area. He was the first person to describe microorganisms and bacteria. He invented microscopic lenses with 270 magnification, the best lenses available at this time!

While Levenhoek is the first microbiological scientist, the first microbiological monitoring dates back to the physical world of Robert Hook in 1965, where he discovered the fruiting bodies of molds.

Other prominent scientists in the history of science who made key discoveries about microorganisms include 19th century scientists Louis Pasteur and Robert Koch , founders of Medical Microbiology.

Louis Pasteur is known for his series of experiments designed to disprove the spontaneous generation theory that prevailed at the time. Pastor has also devised methods for pasteurization and vaccinations against many diseases such as anthrax, cholera, and rabies.

Koch was famous for his contributions to germ theory of disease , which suggests that many diseases are caused by microbes. Developed a series of criteria that became known as Koch's postulates . It was a hut of early scientists who focused on isolating the bacteria in a pure plantation, leading to the prescription of many new bacteria, including mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis.

What are the characteristics of Viruses?

A unique type of organism has the characteristics of living organisms in addition to the characteristics of non-living organisms
Viruses are very specialized as the virus that infects bacteria does not infect fungi
A protein that contains the genetic material (note: genetic material is either DNA or RNA and not both)
Do not classify it as primitive or kernel
It is not considered as a cell
Scientists consider it to be a living organism because of its ability to reproduce within the host
It is considered non-living because it does not contain cytoplasm or other cellular organelles

What are the characteristics of Viroids?

It is a single circular band of RNA that is simpler than viruses
It contains no protein and can not manufacture it, multiplying only within the organism (host)
Infect plants

What are the characteristics of prions?

A protein that does not contain genetic material
Many have caused serious illnesses such as mad cow disease
