Why is math difficult for most students ?!

In 2005, Gallup, a leading statistical research organization, conducted an opinion poll in the United States asking students about the most difficult subjects.
The answer was not surprising. Mathematics topped the list of the most difficult subjects for many of them. The question is why math is difficult and has you ever wondered about this?

What is the concept of difficulty?

The term "difficulty in language " is derived from the verb " hard " and means hardness and difficulty, which can not be done easily and easily where it requires a lot of effort, work, and skill to implement it successfully.

What makes mathematics difficult is that it requires patience and perseverance in learning. For many students, math is not intuitive or automatic, but requires a lot of time and effort. This means that the problem is not related to the mental abilities of the students but due to another reason is that some of them do not set specific timetables during the study to understand many sports topics, which leads to the run out of time and the teacher moved to another subject!

Is sports a cumulative science?

For example, to move to the second floor of the building you have to complete the foundations of the first floor in a strong and solid way or you will not be able to build higher floors. In primary education, students study numbers, rules of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, which form the basic concepts and rules.

The higher levels come in the middle stage when students learn equations and mathematical formulas. These subjects should be understood and understood well before expanding to higher levels of study.

The problem begins between the preparatory and secondary stages when students begin to study and learn more in-depth subjects without sufficient comprehension of past subjects in the past but in any event they complete the school trip. The student moved to higher levels of study in the presence of fragile and weak foundations that foreshadow a real failure at any moment!

The bad beginnings also have a noticeable effect on the difficulty of mathematics later on in many. As we mentioned, it depends on the above studied in the basic stages of the school, which is often problematic because a proportion of teachers in primary school mathematics do not like teaching this material or were forced To work in this profession; and as long as the teacher does not enjoy what he does, this will be reflected, of course, to students!

As well as the reference to mathematics in the media such as serials and cartoons are difficult and tedious, which makes young children hate them even before starting to study, which establishes in the minds of everyone wrong image of it being a science limited to a very limited category of people.

And finally, how can this be overcome?

Which is your current level in the study of mathematics is not a dilemma and can excel by bridging gaps in this building and re-entrench the basic mathematical concepts of the previous educational stages, both preparatory or secondary.
If you are a middle school student, do not seek to move on to the next stage before a good understanding of Pre-Algebra principles "Use a special teacher if necessary"
If you are a high school student and you find it difficult to do math, search for and examine the preparatory course
If you are a college student, you have to go through all the sports that you have experienced in the past. Do not worry, it will not take as long as you think the consequences of continuing without a really good foundation are terrible!

Do you still think mathematics is difficult?
