Individual geology or chemistry - geology Which is better in specialization?

synthetic geology

Which is better as a specialization track for graduating a special geology department or to enroll in a specialization program such as chemistry and geology? This was the text of my question to one of the teachers at the college I was studying. His response was somewhat shocking when he told me that the graduate with a specialized specialization is not qualified in any discipline! She later learned that he had chosen a special specialty ie a solo.

In general, we will attempt to highlight both subjects objectively and impartially, so that each student will know the difference between them; and either of them should choose to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree.

Specialty Requirements

For the Division of Single Geology, in some universities, specific estimates are required in the geology material planned for the first and second years of the study; and a general estimate of at least (very good) is observed for those years. There are other universities that do not set special conditions or requirements to join this division; generally it is subject to internal rules and regulations in each department separately; but in general most universities require specific requirements for admission to the Special Degree,

For specialization, a specific assessment is not required and often requires only the study of certain courses, for example, geology and general chemistry.

Subjects

For the Special Geology Division, it will be a bit different as you will become a specialist in this field. Therefore, many different geological courses are being studied, including advanced sections that you may not need very much in the labor market such as sea geology, paleontology, geology of earthquakes and volcanoes, After and other other materials).

In terms of specialization, the materials are divided equally in each semester between chemistry and geology so that the student obtains the basic principles in both disciplines without addressing any advanced courses that are suitable only for specialists in each field.

Job opportunities in the labor market

Although the question of the job is subject to many other factors such as personal skills, past experience, courses and certificates, and other factors; but the opportunities of both disciplines are almost equal to the geological field, whether in oil or mining. As for the other areas of work that are far from the geological field, it is decided for the graduate of the special division, since he is specialized in one field only.

On the contrary, the graduate of the specialized specialization may get more career opportunities in the other field. We mean chemistry, which includes many aspects of the labor market, such as analysis, oil refining, paints and paints, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other fields.

Which is better? | Which should I choose?

This question is often heard from our newly enrolled colleagues at the Faculty of Science; the answer to it is that they do not have preference over each other, it is first and foremost subject to your interest, priorities and outlook for post-graduation. You are the only person who can answer this question; preferably after deep reflection and consultation with experienced professors in your college or department.
